Ofsted Report 2024

Dear parents/carers

Ofsted Inspection of Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

We have now received our Ofsted report following the inspection that took place in January 2024. I am delighted to share with parents and carers that Ofsted have rated Shooters Hill Sixth Form College overall as GOOD with OUTSTANDING for behaviour and attitudes. I am incredibly proud of this positive outcome which is a testament to the care and commitment of our entire school community.

The Ofsted inspection process examined every aspect of college life from teaching standards to student wellbeing. Achieving a GOOD rating underpins our core values by providing high-quality education and fostering an inclusive environment where students can thrive in a nurturing and warm environment.

Some of the key areas the report identified were that ‘staff have created a safe, vibrant and diverse community’ and that ‘staff have created an inclusive environment in which students with high needs are fully integrated into the college’.

The report also goes on to highlight that ‘students conduct themselves responsibly and with maturity’  and that ‘students display a positive attitude towards their courses and have a strong desire to learn and achieve’.

The full report can be found on our website here and the Ofsted website here.

I would like to personally thank all our students for being ambassadors for our college; the staff for their resilience, hard work and dedication; the parents and carers who provided feedback; the governing body for their guidance and the College Strategy Group for their continued support and leadership.

As the college celebrates this milestone, we also recognise there is room for improvement. We have a commitment to learn from the themes identified in the report as we continue to strive to become exceptional in all areas.

I look forward to continuing this journey together and building on this success to further enhance the high-quality teaching to transform the lives of our students.

Yours sincerely,

Geoff Osborne

Principal
