ADMISSIONS TO SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL PROVISION AT SHOOTERS HILL SIXTH FORM COLLEGE
A decision has been made with the Royal Borough of Greenwich to move the admissions to the special provision at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College within the main Royal Borough of Greenwich SEND admissions processes. This will mean that decisions are :
- made by a multi-disciplined group of professionals assessing needs against the admissions criteria through recent reports and the paperwork available
- made at the earliest opportunity, agreeing in advance appropriate levels of funding place to ensure students have the right support at the outset
- enable decisions about individual young people to be made in the context of the whole range of available provision
- bring Shooters Hill in line with all other special provision in Greenwich, with a standardised transparent approach to assessing and meeting needs
The new arrangements will apply for admissions from next academic year, with the first Panel took place in March 2018 for entry in September 2018.
All applications by young people with an EHC Plan to the mainstream provision will continue to be managed through the formal consultation process as set out in the SEND Code of Practice.
