Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (QCF)

The main aim of the Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy is to enable students to gain the practical and theoretical skills necessary to provide Sports Massage Therapy. The course has been designed as the starting point for people with no experience wishing to gain the necessary skills to perform sports massage for sports teams or on a self-employed basis.

The purpose of this specialist qualification is to enrich the understanding of anatomical, physiological principles relevant to the application of Sports Massage Therapy.

Once qualified you will learn to evaluate massage strategies and method of taking correct information from the client and outline the information needed to set up your own practice with correct policies and procedures.

  • Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Massage
  • Principles of Health and Fitness
  • Understanding the principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction
  • Professional Practice in Sports Massage
  • Sports Massage Treatments

Your study programme will include English, Maths and tutorial sessions as well as the vocational sport massage therapy lessons. In addition PSHE lessons will include employability certificates that enhance your opportunities to be employable.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade 9-5, including maths and English.
