Reporting an absence

If a student is unable to attend college, either the student or their parent/carer should notify their Personal Development Tutor (PDT) or class teacher via Microsoft Teams or email as soon as possible, providing the reason for the absence.

We are committed to ensuring excellent attendance by:

• Setting the expectation that attendance and punctuality should be 100%
• Taking early action to address patterns of absence or any students identified as ‘at risk’ due to frequent absences

Keeping parents and carers informed

We keep parents and carers updated about attendance by:

• Sending a text message if a student misses a lesson
• Including attendance information in student biannual reports
• Providing access to attendance records through the Parent and Carer Portal
