Applications and offers

Q: I've received an offer. What happens next?

You'll be invited to attend a taster day before enrolment. We'll contact you by email with full details and any important information you need to know.

Q: I haven't received a letter confirming my offer. Where is it?

To help reduce our environmental impact and minimise paper waste, we do not send offer letters by post. Instead, we communicate with applicants by email and text message. Please make sure we have your current email address and mobile number so you don't miss any important updates about your application.

If you're still unable to find your offer confirmation, please contact the Admissions Team.

Q: I've received another offer. Should I keep my SHC place?

We recommend keeping your SHC place and attending enrolment until you've made a final decision. You can still decline your place later if you decide to study elsewhere.

Q: My friend hasn't applied yet. Is it too late?

No. Applications can be submitted throughout the year. If an application is received after the main application period, the applicant will usually be invited to attend open enrolment.

Q: Can I change my course choice?

Yes. If you would like to change your course choice, please contact the Admissions Team who will make the change or discuss the available options with you.

Q: Can I change course level?

The final level of study will be confirmed during enrolment and will depend on your exam results. Our team will discuss the most appropriate programme with you at that stage.

Taster days and enrolment

Q: What is a taster day?

A taster day gives you the opportunity to experience your chosen course, meet staff and other students, and learn more about college life. We strongly encourage all offer holders to attend.

Q: I've attended my taster day. What happens next?

Your next step is enrolment. We'll contact you with details about your enrolment appointment and explain what you'll need to bring with you. See the Enrolment page.

Q: Do I need to attend enrolment?

Yes. Enrolment is the final stage of joining the college. You'll need to attend your enrolment appointment to confirm your place and programme of study. If you do not attend, you may lose your place at the college.

Courses and results

Q: What happens if I don't achieve a Grade 4 in English and maths?

Students who do not achieve a Grade 4 or above in English and maths will need to retake them alongside their main programme of study.

Q: I'm not sure what I want to study. Who can I speak to?

We recommend attending one of our open evenings to explore the courses available and speak with our teaching and careers teams.

You can also contact us at any time for advice and guidance on choosing the right course.

Q: I will be over 19 years old in September. Can I still apply?

As a sixth form college, we are unable to accept students who are aged 19 or over at the start of the academic year.

Support and accessibility

Q: I am hearing or visually impaired. Will I receive support?

Students with hearing or visual impairments can access support through the Greenwich Sensory Service. Support will be available whenever you are invited to attend a college event. During lessons, students may be supported by a Communication Support Worker (CSW), as they were at school.

Q: I have a mobility or anxiety-related need. Will I receive support?

If you have mobility or anxiety-related needs, please let us know so we can ensure the appropriate support is in place.
