Taster Day 2026

Come and take part in our upcoming New Student Experience Day (Taster Day). You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant learning environment, meet your teachers and fellow students, and sign up for one of our sports academies or enrichment programmes. This will give you a genuine insight into what college life at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is really like.

These New Student Experience Days are exclusively for students who have received an offer to study at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College starting in September 2025.

Choosing the right course can feel stressful and confusing. At SHC, we run New Student Experience Days for each subject area, giving you the chance to gain hands-on experience and explore what our courses have to offer.

New Student Experience Days begin at 9.30 am and finish at 2.00 pm.

  Child Care, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Health & Social Care, Electrical Installation, Gaming, IT

• Thursday 2nd July 2026

  A-Levels, Art & Design, Public Services, Sport, Motor Vehicles, Media

Alongside your fun-packed college sessions, we also have the following lined up for you:

• Sports Academy sign-up

• Picnic games  
• Mental Health awareness
• Wellbeing activities 
• Opportunities to talk to our support team and financial assistance advisors

 Students that have chosen the GCSE Programme are more than welcome to pick any of the subjects above for their student experience.

Please note, these sessions are for students hoping to join us in September only: unfortunately, we cannot allow students to bring their parents due to safeguarding procedures. 

Hospitality & Catering Experience Days
Friday June 23rd - Tuesday July 1st

Students with offers for our Hospitality & Catering courses will be invited to a separate short course directly by the department. These events are invitation only - if you believe you should have received an invitation, please email us at admissions@shc.ac.uk.
