September 2026 induction and start dates

We are looking forward to welcoming students to Shooters Hill Sixth Form College this September.

The first two weeks are designed to help students settle into college life, meet staff and classmates, learn about college systems and expectations, and prepare for successful study.

Induction overview

Tuesday 1 September - New SHC students only

This day is for students who are new to Shooters Hill Sixth Form College.

Students will:

  • Take part in a campus tour
  • Meet staff and fellow students
  • Learn about the college day and expectations
  • Access Chromebook lockers
  • Check attendance systems
  • Learn how to use EduTools and ProPortal

Wednesday 2 September and Thursday 3 September

Students return according to their induction group. During these days students will:

  • Attend induction activities and lessons
  • Meet teaching and support staff
  • Attend Principal's talks
  • Receive important course information
  • Confirm that they have suitable IT access for home study

Friday 4 September

All new students will take part in a one-to-one Microsoft Teams check-in from home.

These sessions will:

  • Ensure students can access Teams
  • Test cameras and microphones
  • Confirm contact details
  • Help staff get to know students

Students without suitable IT equipment at home will be invited to attend on site..
