Dress Code Policy - October 2026

Letter-from-the-Principal.Re-Dress-Code-01.10.26.pdf

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our college dress code policy. It is important that our students present themselves in a manner that reflects both respect for their studies and the professional environments they will encounter in the future.

Our dress code is designed to encourage appropriate attire relevant to their area of study, ensuring students are well-prepared for their personal journey. Therefore, please ensure that your young person adheres to the following guidelines:

• Clothing should not reveal areas of the body that would be deemed inappropriate for the workplace.

• Pyjamas, flip-flops, open-toed sandals, crop tops, short skirts or shorts that are above mid-thigh length are not permitted.

• Shorts or skirts may be worn, provided they are of a mid-thigh length. It is imperative that all students comply with these standards.

Those whose attire does not meet the dress code will regrettably be turned away at the gate and asked to change into clothing that is more suitable for both their educational setting and future workplace environments. We appreciate your understanding and support in reinforcing these standards with your young person. Our aim is to create an environment conducive to learning and personal growth, and appropriate clothing plays a significant role in this.

Our full-dress code guidance can be found on our website. Shooters Hill Sixth Form College - Dress Code

Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Geoff Osborne Principal
