Shooters Hill Sixth Form College Launches Level 1 British Sign Language Course

Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is proud to announce the launch of its Level 1 British Sign Language (BSL) course, designed to support both internal students and members of the wider community. This new offering reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and lifelong learning.

The course is ideal for beginners and requires no prior knowledge of BSL. Participants will develop practical communication skills, gain confidence in everyday interactions, and build a deeper understanding of Deaf awareness and culture. By learning BSL, students and community members alike can play a meaningful role in creating a more inclusive environment.

Open to both internal and external applicants, the course provides a valuable opportunity to gain a recognised skill that can enhance personal development, employability, and community engagement.
