Thirteen of our students had the exciting opportunity to attend the BNP Paribas Young Talent in Tech Day on Thursday 12th March, gaining first-hand insight into careers within the technology and finance sectors at BNP Paribas.

The day began with a morning session introducing students to BNP Paribas and the wider tech industry. This was followed by an in-depth look at the variety of skills and roles available, helping students understand the many pathways into technology careers. After a short break and a tour of the building, students took part in their first interactive challenge, focusing on requirements gathering an essential skill in real-world tech projects.

Following lunch, the afternoon sessions offered a dynamic mix of talks and activities. Highlights included an engaging AI talk, where students learned about cutting-edge developments and heard from professionals with diverse academic backgrounds, including physics. Students also participated in an Agile working game and a session on HR and early careers, providing valuable advice on entering the industry.

Later in the day, students attended a data-focused talk and took part in a development, before concluding with closing remarks and the presentation of certificates.

The BNP Paribas Young Talent Tech Day provided a valuable and inspiring experience, equipping students with knowledge, confidence, and enthusiasm for the future.
