COURSE OVERVIEW
By completing our T-Level Digital Software Development students will not only gain essential technical expertise but also develop important professional skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, making them highly attractive candidates for both apprenticeships and university courses.
The course equips students with the technical skills and knowledge required for a successful career in digital roles, with a strong emphasis on coding, project management, and key digital skills such as cybersecurity, networking, and data management.
Throughout the course, students will engage in practical projects that simulate real-world scenarios, allowing them to develop hands-on experience in the digital sector. This prepares them well for entering apprenticeships, where they can apply their skills directly in industry settings.
However, the course also offers a strong academic foundation for those who wish to pursue university degrees in computing, digital technology, or related fields. It ensures that students are well-prepared for further academic challenges, should they choose to continue their studies. You'll leanr:
- Skills in programming, project management, and web development
- Understanding and managing data, data analysis and database fundamentals
- Principles of data storage, backup, and disaster recovery
- System Design and Development, including software development lifecycle
- Developing digital solutions using programming languages
- Ethical considerations in the digital world
Industry Placement
Our T-Level Digital Software Development course requires students to complete a substantial industry placement (usually 315 hours or more), giving them hands-on experience in a real-world digital environment
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or level 2 Merit equivalency, for example a BTEC), including English and Maths
- Potential students must also demonstrate good social and employability skills
