COURSE OVERVIEW

Our Level 1 Electrical course is suitable for those interested in a career in electrical installations. It allows you to learn, develop, and practice the skills required for employment and career progression. Assessment is based on coursework and assignments, which are both internally and externally assessed.

You will learn:

  • Safe working practices 
  • PPE, assess risks, follow lockout / tagout, handle tools safely, and know emergency procedures
  • Site preparation
  • Assess site risks, coordinate with trades, use proper signage, organize work materials, and read site plans
  • Electrical installation / wiring
  • Install and select cables, terminate properly, test systems, and ensure code compliance
  • Electrical Science
  • Understand basic electrical principles (voltage, current, circuits, AC/DC), electromagnetism, and power distribution
  • Containment systems 
  • Install conduits and trays, design for safety and compliance, and maintain systems

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enrol on our Level 1 Electrical Installation, you’ll need: 

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 2 and 3, including English and Maths
