Art & Design, Level 1

Course Information

COURSE OVERVIEW

This exciting and hands-on course is designed for students who are passionate about exploring their creativity and developing foundational skills in art and design. Through a variety of practical projects and digital tools, students will gain experience across multiple disciplines and begin to shape their own artistic identity.

Throughout the course, students will engage in a wide range of creative activities, including:

• Printmaking
• Drawing and Illustration
• Mixed Media Techniques
• Model Making
• Digital Design Tools - including SketchUp, Photoshop, and other creative software
• Design Cycle Exploration - through a collaborative project with local charity Roots4Life and an externally set brief
• Personal Project - an opportunity to explore individual interests and potential future pathways

In addition to creative practice, students will build essential skills for education and employment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enrol on our Level 1 Art & Design, you’ll need:

• 5 GCSEs at Grades 2 or 3, including English and Maths
• A portfolio of work is helpful but not essential
