Oyster Cards

The 16+ Zip Oyster photo card enables full-time students aged 16-18 who live in a London Borough to travel free on buses and trams. The 18+ Student Oyster card is for students who are 19 and over at the start of the academic year and enroled on a full time course. You can save 30% off the price of adult rate travel cards, bus and tram passes.

Bursary Funds

Students aged 16–19 who are in care, care leavers, or receiving Income Support/Universal Credit in their own name, or both ESA and DLA or PIP in their own name, are eligible for a bursary of up to £1,200 to support them during their studies.

Additionally, students eligible for free school meals, those from low-income households, or young carers may also be able to access financial support through the College’s Discretionary Bursary Fund.

Care to Learn

The Care to Learn scheme helps young parents with childcare costs while studying at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College.

To be eligible, students must be under 20 years old at the start of their course in September 2024. You can receive up to £195 per week per child if you live in London.
